"In A Silent Way, I'm Talking to You." is a video work that discusses effective communication and ineffective communication and the relationship in between. The work is presented in a three-stage structure, namely "Jet Lag", "Chorus" and "Silence". The work revolves around a point of view discussion-"communication is absolute, and invalid communication is relative". Individuals are in contact with the outside world all the time, and every contact is communication, and this communication is absolute. Objective differences, integration of differences, the silence of communication.

In A Silent Way, I'm Talking to You.
Video7:02
My work is inspired by the journeys and transitions in different cities and different living environments during my childhood. As far as the family is concerned, I have paid attention to and started to think about the problems of communication and the breakdown of connections between individuals behind the divorce of parents. From the perspective of the public and the social environment, when connecting with people, the objects are of all kinds, familiar or unfamiliar, old friends or new. When communication occurs, differences begin to appear. Individual differences make some Communication is relatively ineffective, and the connection is broken, and some communication is more effective.

"Jet Lag"
In most cases, individual differences exist objectively, and each individual has their own trajectory, resulting in differences. Such differences are sometimes even differences in genes, regions, and races. The existence of "Jet Lag" is caused by the earth's revolution around the sun and its rotation. People are used to calling those who work at night "Night Owls", and people who prefer to work in the morning or get up early "Early Bird". In this popular psychology (Folk psychology), time has a direct relationship with bird life. In the context of communication, it is more like the objective difference of individuals in communication.

"Chorus"
The communication and connection presented by different individuals are as harmonious as music. John Cage's "4'33" explains his idea that all sounds can be music. It is impossible for people to escape from sound, and sound will always exist. Differences exist objectively like jet lag, and communication, where differences exist, can be effective.

"Silence"
Hearing, smell, sight, touch, and taste are the main tools for perceiving things around, and through these tools can gradually dividing things into the boundary between the known and the unknown. People naturally believe that only the things we can perceive are connected with us, and the things that cannot be perceived do not exist for us. The perception of different things between individuals makes communication relatively ineffective. The sound frequency range that most human ears can receive is between 20-20000 Hz, and we are accustomed to calling the sound we can't hear silence. Silence is unbearable, so we judge invalid communication as an absolute error, but not like this. Albert Hubbard puts forward that "People who cannot understand your silence will probably not understand your words. He who does not understand your silence will probably not understand your words”.
